WatchGuard Technologies has loaded up its current regional director for Australia and New Zealand, Scott Robertson, with the additional role of Asia Pacific vice president for channels and alliances.
The global security solutions vendor says that Robertson will retain his ANZ regional director role but is now also tasked with negotiating new channel and vendor alliances across the Asia Pacific region with the goals of enhancing WatchGuard's regional presence and building new sales pipeline, channel partnerships, and other marketing opportunities.
WatchGuard's vice president international sales, Terry Haas said today that 'having put together an exceptional and robust channel in ANZ that is focused on exceeding the market expectations around product innovation and customer satisfaction, we look forward to the positive impact that Scott will have in our overall Asia Pacific business operations.'
Robertson originally joined WatchGuard in 2007 and has 16 years' experience in IT and business consulting. For the past three-and-a-half years he has been responsible for the company's ANZ business including customer acquisition, channels, marketing and pre-sales of WatchGuard's range of network security appliances and management software.
Prior to joining WatchGuard, Robertson was general manager Asia Pacific for network authentication company, CRYPTOCard, and worked in various sales and marketing management capacities with Red Hat Asia Pacific, Microsoft and Visio.
