Kaspersky Lab has promoted its former sales director for Australia and New Zealand to the position of country manager in what the company says is a continuation of its aggressive growth strategy in the ANZ market.

Andrew Mamonitis, a 10-year veteran of the technology industry, said the his focus would be to further develop Kapersky's market positions in ANZ in the consumer and corporate sectors, as well as sales growth and the maintenance of the company's 'high level of local support.'

Mamonitis' appointment follows the promotion of Alexey Gromyko to another senior role with Kaspersky Lab in the Asia-Pacific region. Gromyko has worked for Kaspersky for 10 years, working extensively on the development of the company's business in the Asian markets.

Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab APAC, Mr. Harry Cheung said the appointments reflect the company's commitment to 'continuing its aggressive push to increase market share in Australia and New Zealand.'

According to Cheung, Kaspersky Lab is experiencing 'significant growth in the consumer and corporate information security markets in Australia and New Zealand as we strengthen our partner programs and continue to deliver our market leading technologies to these countries. Andrew has been instrumental in strengthening our market presence through our partner program in the region and we are delighted that he will head our operations there.'

Cheung also noted that Kaspersky has made 'tremendous progress' in the markets of both Australia and New Zealand in the past two years, forging new retail alliances and expanding its presence in the corporate sector, and he flagged that the company will be further extending its range of corporate solutions within the next few months.
