Prior to his latest promotion, Edwards was chief operating officer for both the enterprise transaction systems and webMethods business divisions for North America, Latin America, and Western and Southern Europe.
He has also joined the company's top leadership team, the group executive board, which is responsible for the operational management of Software AG under the chairmanship of CEO Karl-Heinz Streibich.
