CA Technologies has revamped its Australian management team, appointing a mix of old hands and new recruits to lead its five business units.

"All five Business Unit heads have shown that they have the expertise, energy and ideas to make a significant impact and drive our business," said Brenton Smith, vice president and area manager, Australia and New Zealand.

"Our overarching Cloud Connected Enterprise strategy is incredibly important and these appointments further our commitment to invest in the best possible team to work within that framework."

The cloud business unit is led by Carl Terrantroy, previously director and manager of the business development team within Oracle ANZ's technology business unit. He has also held management roles at Actividentity and Citrix Systems.

The service assurance unit is under David Balazsy's charge. He was previously regional sales manager at MKS Software.

The virtualisation and service automation unit is being managed by Peter Sharples, who has been with the company since 2008. He previously worked as a business development manager at Symantec, and in a variety of roles at Telstra.
