Mobile operators get fixed price spectrum renewal in $3b Government windfall

The Government has offered Australia's three mobile operators, and vividwireless, renewal of their existing spectrum allocated on 15 year licences in the late 90s and early 2000s at set prices, while the Government expects to rake in $3 billion.

Browne's the new boss at Datacom

Professional services company Datacom has appointed Michael Browne as group CEO.


“The Board is delighted to have a person of Michael's ability and experience to take the group CEO role, and this appointment is seen as enabling the next significant step in Datacom's development and growth," said group chairman John Holdsworth. 

Browne has been responsible for Datacom's Australian and Asian businesses since 1999 and will now have full responsibility for all operations within Datacom.

He joined Datacom Wellington in 1992 and has worked in a number of senior roles and locations within the Group including heading up Datacom's Malaysia operation in 1997 before moving to Sydney in 1999 as CEO of Australia/Asia.
