Hitachi appointment to drive channel

Hitachi Data Systems has promoted Wendy Watkinson to the position of executive of channels for Australia and New Zealand with responsibility for developing the channel business and overseeing all of the company's existing channel and strategic partnerships.

Based in Sydney, Watkinson, a 12-year IT industry veteran, will report to Hitachi's ANZ managing director, Neville Vincent. Vincent said 'our channel partners are integral to Hitachi's success. With Wendy's proven capabilities and experience, I am confident that our partners will have the skills, tools and resources to provide reliable storage solutions for their customers.'

Watkinson was previously Hitachi's NSW territory channel sales manager, and prior to joining Hitachi, Watkinson worked for Nortel.
