VMWare boosts ANZ team

VMWare  has bolstered its Australian and New Zealand sales management team with two new executive appointments which the company says positions it for growth in the ANZ market as IT sending recovers.

VMWare’s managing director for Australia and New Zealand, Paul Harapin, announced the appointments of Duncan Bennet as the company’s new director of commercial sales and Steve Coad as director of enterprise sales.

“As IT spending recovers, this strong leadership team will position VMware for growth in 2010. As we drive the benefits of virtualization and IT as a Service deeper into businesses, we will benefit from the insight these industry veterans bring to VMware,” Harapin said.

Bennet was formerly the managing director for Sun Microsystems for Australia and New Zealand, working with the company for over 10 years. Coad previously worked in senior roles with IBM, EMC and Cisco in the Asia Pacific region. Both Bennet and Coad will report to Harapin.
