Videoconferencing and mobile video provider Tandberg has appointed Marco Corrent as its Australia and New Zealand channel manager.

"We are delighted to have a channel manager with the experience and market understanding that Marco has to help drive our business forward in key markets," said regional director Phil Siefert.

"As companies in all markets grapple with visual communications challenges, Macro’s recent experience is highly prized and we look forward to the positive impact that he will have in enabling us to strategically engage with our partners and distributors in the ANZ video conferencing market," he added.

Corrent most recently held a similar position at Blue Coat Systems, which he joined as a result of that company's acquisition of Packeteer.

He has also worked in channel management and related positions at Trend Micro, Nortel, and ComTech.

Corrent's predecessor at Tandberg, Adam Britten, was recently promoted to Asia Pacific channel director.
