Macquarie Telecom gets new CFO

Macquarie Telecom has appointed Michael Simmonds as CFO to replace Tim Blackwell, who has been CFO for the past five years.

Blackwell has decided to leave Macquarie Telecom "to take an extended sabbatical from the business world." He will remain at Macquarie Telecom until 17 March 2006 to ensure a smooth handover.

Simmonds has held a number of positions as finance director with companies in the UK and Europe, including with Burgundy Global, a corporate transport outsourcing provider, and Carillion Services, a property consulting and asset management company. Previous experience also includes roles with IMG and Price Waterhouse.
