HP has appointed John Solomon as senior vice president of its Imaging and Printing Group's Asia Pacific and Japan region.

"John's experienced and proven business leadership in the region, combined with his strong strategic and relationship skills, and his passion for serving customers, will help drive our business to the next level," said Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group (IPG).

Solomon has been with HP for 15 years, most recently as vice president and general manager of HP's US consumer business and IPG's inkjet and web solutions business for the Americas.

He has also worked in the APJ region, where he previously ran IPG's supplies go-to-market unit in the APJ region.

Solomon holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, and an MBA from the University of Washington.

His predecessor, Christopher Morgan, now leads the worldwide graphics solutions business within IPG.
