Sophos ANZ boss promoted to APAC role

Internet security company, Sophos, has appointed Rob Forsyth to the role of managing director, Asia Pacific, excluding Japan, effective immediately. Forsyth, who will continue to be based in Sophos's offices in Sydney, has served as managing director for Australia and New Zealand for the last three years. Forsyth was appointed to the board of directors of the Internet Industry Association (IIA) in 2005 and prior to joining Sophos in 2001, he spent five years with SOCOG (the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games) as programme manager for workforce planning and industrial relations. Sophos has also appointed Jim Dowling as director of sales, Asia, based in Singapore and he will report directly to Rob Forsyth. Dowling has previously held senior sales and channel management roles in Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Most recently was with IBM Asia Pacific for four years. He has also held regional roles with TechPacific, BHP and Pasminco.
