NetApp has announced a pair of appointments to its board of directors.
Storage management specialist NetApp has appointed Gerald Held and Michael Nevins to its board.
"We are pleased to welcome Dr Gerald Held and Michael Nevens to the NetApp board of directors," said Tom Georgens, NetApp president and CEO.
"Dr Held's broad technology experience with strong product and customer insights will be a valuable asset to our board. Michael Neven's extensive business strategy experience providing strategic counsel and direction to Fortune 500 technology companies will help NetApp continue to gain market share in the storage industry," he added.
Held is CEO of Held Consulting, which provides consulting services to senior executives of technology firms. He previously held senior roles at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Oracle, and Tandem. While at the University of California, Berkeley he led the initial development of Ingres.
Nevens is as a senior advisor to Permira, an international private equity fund. He was previously a director (senior partner) at McKinsey & Co, where he led the company's global technology practice.
