GN Netcom expands management roles for ANZ, APAC business growth

IT People - People

Global headset solutions vendor, GN Netcom, says it has boosted its sales and marketing efforts in Australia and the Asia Pacific as it continues its efforts to grow its Jabra brand and overhaul the Jabra business in the ANZ and Asia Pacific regions.

GN Netcom has appointed, its regional managing director ANZ, Victor Guerrero, to the position of head of marketing and alliances-APAC. Guerrero will remain as MD in addition to taking on his new role, while sales manager ANZ, Mike Powrie’s role will also expand to general manager-sales, ANZ.

An industry veteran, Victor Guerrero joined GN Netcom 18 months ago tasked with growing the Jabra brand and overhauling the Jabra business and channel model in the ANZ region. GN Netcom says its new channel model, introduced in November 2008, saw the number of authorised resellers servicing clients in the Unified Communication market jump to 65.

Previously, Guerrero held management, channel and sales roles at Adobe, Sybari Software and Banksia, and also founded and developed his own ISP in the enterprise and retail wireless broadband market.

Guerrero said the Unified Communication business is set for “high growth in the APAC region,” and he said the company was “very confident about maintaining Jabra’s growth of the past 12 months with the help of our channel partners.”

Before joining GN Netcom, Mike Powrie worked in distribution, and also worked with Cisco Systems before moving into the enterprise sector, working with government and the Department of Defence. In his new role, Powrie will be responsible for driving and managing Jabra ANZ and global enterprise business.

Both Guerrero and Powrie will be based in Sydney.
