Acronis hires Steve Mann to drive global marketing

IT People - People

Global storage management software vendor, Acronis says it has hired technology industry “luminary” and 20 year IT industry veteran, Steve Mann as its chief marketing officer, charged with leading its worldwide marketing efforts.

Jason Donahue, Acronis President and CEO, said Mann was the company’s first appointment of a CMO, and he would play an integral role in driving the company’s future growth at a time when he claimed Acronis was “poised for a tremendous 2010.”

Donahue said Mann would bring to the company “a valuable combination of deep expertise and innovative thinking.”

According to Donohue, Mann is a “thought leader on emerging technologies, marketing segmentation strategies, social media, and marketing strategy,” and most recently, had led SAP AG’s social media strategy efforts, as well as being responsible for SAP’s total customer experience initiative, services marketing, market intelligence function and SAP’s competitive program and strategy team.

Prior to joining SAP, Mann was a principal with the BRM Group, a Jerusalem and New York-based venture capital firm and was formerly the vice president of product strategy for CA.

Donahue said that Acronis had registered its best-ever Q3 revenues this year, “highlighted by a September that set a company record for revenue,” and that last month the company was named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list of the fastest growing technology companies in North America.
