CA has appointed a new head of its Internet security business unit (ISBU) for Asia Pacific, to service the region from Sydney.

CA’s George Kafkarkou, SVP and general Manager for ISBU, said industry veteran Phil Cameron had been appointed to the job from his most recent position as Lenovo’s managing director/executive director for Australia/New Zealand.  He previously worked in channel, reseller, distribution and retail management with Toshiba and IBM.

Kafkarkou said Cameron’s “experience and leadership are vital in our quest for increased market penetration in the important Asia Pacific region,” adding that “CA Internet security products have a deep history in this region stemming from VET antivirus.”

“I am looking forward to working with this talented team to help further drive CA’s presence in this market.”

Cameron was inducted into the ARN (Australian Reseller News) IT Industry 2008 Hall of Fame for “outstanding service and contribution to the Australian IT industry”, as voted by industry peers.
