Vendor Lawson Software has strengthened its Asia Pacific executive management team with the appointment of a director responsible for channel partners and a director of marketing for the region, including Japan.
Lawson’s general manager and regional managing
director, Asia-Pacific & Japan, David Hope, announced the
appointment of Ronnie Sabnani as regional director, channels, and Haren
Samarasekera to the position of regional marketing director, Lawson
Asia Pacific & Japan.
Hope said that, in this newly created role, Sabnani has been tasked
with “driving growth and success of the Lawson channel partner
ecosystem within Asia Pacific,” and that a significant portion of his
time would be spent on “establishing and promoting the expansion of
business in the emerging markets.”
“This appointment marks the importance of increasing reach and coverage
through channel partners for Lawson in the Asia-Pacific. “We are
serious about growing Lawson’s reseller business in the Asia-Pacific.
Given Ronnie’s experience and past career achievements, I’m highly
confident of his ability to develop our channel business in the
region,” Hope said.
Sabnani has over 15 years’ experience in solution positioning,
consulting, sales and marketing in the enterprise application industry,
and joins Lawson from SAP where he was responsible for the enablement
of the SAP mid-market channel partners.
Hope also said that Haren Samarasekera would “work closely with the
company’s global marketing organisation to execute key programs, as
well as lead Lawson’s strategic marketing initiatives in the region.”
“He will also support the regional sales and services units in aligning key Lawson objectives and creating customer value.”
Hope said that Samarasekera brings over 14 years of sales and marketing
experience in the business software industry to Lawson. “He led the
charge to grow the regional business for ERP (enterprise resource
planning) and business services organisations and has worked in the
Asia-Pacific and Middle-East regions.”
Prior to joining Lawson, Samarasekera was director at SalesEdge Consulting and APAC sales director at First Advantage.
