Web appointment makes sense

Web services vendor, Websense has appointed a new man with responsibility for its New Zealand business.

The company has announced the appointment of Chris Barton as New Zealand territory manager.

Barton was previously Australian and New Zealand regional manager for SonicWALL and, during his four years with the company, he was also channel manager for Australia and New Zealand with responsibility for managing reseller and distribution relationships.  

Barton previously worked for Sophos, based in Sydney, where he was responsible for the government and enterprise sectors.

At Websense, Barton will focus on supporting channel partners in New Zealand and spearheading New Zealand Web security sales and solutions initiatives.

Prior to joining Websense, Barton had more than 10 years’ experience in information security with SonicWaLL and Sophos.
