Dell sees SMBs as the lifeblood of the Australian economy and has put in a new head of its SMB division to push the business drive in Australia‘s small business market.
The company today announced the appointment of
Deborah Harrigan as general manager of its small to medium business
division for Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on expanding
Dell’s personalised offering to local SMB customers and channel
partners.
Harrigan has worked with Dell for more than 10 years in senior sales
and operational roles, including management across SMB divisions in
Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand. Most
recently, she spent more than two years as the country manager for Dell
New Zealand.
A spokesperson for the Australian company, said today Harrigan’s
appointment supports Dell’s global organisational alignment into four
major customer segments - large enterprise, public sector, small to
medium business and consumer.
Under the global leadership of Steve Felice, Dell says its small to
medium business division is accelerating the creation and delivery of
SMB-specific solutions and technology to the more than 72 million small
and medium-sized businesses worldwide, including more than two million
in Australia and New Zealand.
Harrigan said today this included Dell’s revitalised Vostro range of
laptops and desktops, prosupport for SMBs, and Dell’s strengthened
reach and services capabilities through its PartnerDirect program
launched nine months ago in Australia.
“In tough economic conditions, it’s the small and medium business that
continues to be lifeblood of the economy,” said Harrigan.
