Giant Indian IT services group, Satyam, has looked in-house to find the new head of its Australian and New Zealand business.
The company today announced that Venki
Prathivadi, who joined the company in 2003, has been appointed as the
new country manager for Satyam Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). Satyam
also announced the appointment of Vijay Prasad as principal advisor to
the ANZ region.
Satyam, which has large outsourcing contracts in the Australian market,
was under the microscope earlier this year with revelations of a
massive scandal involving fraudulent activities by the company’s chief
executive.
Satyam director and head of the company’s Asia Pacific operations, T.
R. Anand, announced the Australian management appointments and said
that, most recently, Prathivadi was Satyam’s delivery director for an
Australian telecommunications provider, with an extensive background
over 18 years in the IT services industry, including consulting roles
in SAP Australia and EDS Australia.
Anand said Prathivadi, who replaces Deepak Nangia, would direct all
Satyam activities in the two countries, including customer relationship
management solution development, service delivery, sales and support.
Anand also said that, as principal advisor to the ANZ region, Vijay
Prasad would provide advisory services to build “delivery excellence
and leadership in ANZ.”
“Vijay is one of the senior-most executives at Satyam. He nurtured the
company’s enterprise applications and business intelligence practice
group and served as Satyam’s CIO.
