Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Global technology services group, CSC has appointed 30 year IT industry veteran, Bob Hayward, as its chief technology and innovation officer for Australia and Asia.
The president of CSC’s operations in Australia,
Nick Wilkinson, says Hayward will be responsible for the overall
direction and business management of CSC’s technology offerings and
innovation programs, and “will be a key contributor to CSC’s global and
local office of innovation which includes the leading edge forum, a
team of global thought leaders who offer world-class research, ideas,
frameworks, case studies and events that identify emerging business and
IT practices.”
“He will also play an active role in CSC’s account innovation programs
which brings relevant and proactive innovation and thought leadership
from around the globe to CSC clients. Some of the technologies he will
initially focus on include cloud computing, web 2.0 and hosted virtual
desktops.
Prior to joining CSC, Hayward was a director of KPMG’s information
technology (IT) Advisory Services and before that he was Gartner’s
senior vice president and research fellow for Asia Pacific and Japan,
where he advised enterprises with their IT strategies, organisation,
governance and technology decisions, and authored research reports.
Hayward also held senior positions with Candle Corporation and was
responsible for introducing Tivoli Systems into Asia.
Wilkinson said Hayward was an internationally recognised expert in
information and communication technologies, and “has a unique
perspective on emerging technologies and a sound understanding of the
dynamics of the technology markets.”
“Having set up, grown and managed several successful IT businesses in
his 30-year career, Bob brings to CSC an extensive network of
connections to politicians, technology leaders, academics, researchers
and IT professionals.”
In November last year, Hayward was elected director of the board for
the Australian Information Industries Association (AIIA) and is leading
the national AIIA environmentally sustainable IT task force, an
initiative dedicated to helping government, business and consumers
reduce and manage emissions, carbon footprints and waste.
