Packeteer strengthens focus on MSPs

Packeteer a developer of wide area network application optimisation technologies, has appointed Robert Rawsthorne to a newly created position of territory manager to handle technical business development for Packeteer in Australia and New Zealand.

He will report to Bede Hackney, Packeteer's country manager for Australia and New Zealand, and his primary responsibility will be to engage with and manage service providers, outsourcers and integrators currently running or developing managed application services based around Packeteer's WAN application optimisation products.

Hackney said: "This new position, which is a first for Packeteer in the Asia Pacific region, reflects our strategic commitment to Managed Application Services."

Prior to joining Packeteer he was as NSW-based capacity planning manager at Unisys in the global outsourcing area and before that a product manager with Comindico (now part of Soul Telecommunications) focused on broadband services for the wholesale residential market and the direct business market.
