Telstra adds one million mobile services, but Sensis plummets

Phillips Fox boosts tech, media and comms practice

Commercial law firm, Phillips Fox, has appointed Silicon Valley legal-eagle Dan Brush as special counsel in its Technology Media & Communications practice in Sydney.

Described as "well-known" in Silicon Valley" he was previously general counsel of Excite@Home Corporation, a California-based Internet portal and broadband ISP with annual revenues in excess of $US800M. Before that he was general counsel for object database company, Versant Corporation, during its IPO on NASDAQ. He had earlier been in private practice in California and Sydney for over six years.

He advises organisations with issues relating to telecommunications, e-commerce and media sectors, and has additional expertise in broadcasting law, intellectual property, competition law, and corporate and tax structuring.
