Enterprise software and services company, Mincom Limited has appointed Lieutenant-General, William (Bill) Leach as vice president Mincom Defence. Leach will help drive the company's defence-related activities in the United States and Canada.
Lt Gen Leach is a graduate of The Royal Military College of Canada with more than 40 years' service in the Canadian Army and Canadian Forces and was hired to bring logistics expertise to Mincom's growing North American defence business.
Recently defeating larger foreign competitors to win a strategically important defence logistics contract with the Australian Defence Force, Mincom is developing what the company claims is the world's first fully-deployable, fully integrated, tri-services military logistics solution.
According to Mincom CEO, Richard Mathews, the military logistics development work currently in scope for Mincom is attracting the interest of allied defence forces across the world.
"Mincom has a solid track record working with the Canadian Department of National Defence and the United States Coast Guard to develop their logistics systems. Bill Leach's extensive experience in military logistics is extremely valuable in building Mincom's global defence solution," Mathews said.
Lt Gen Leach retired from military service in 2000 and spent five years as Vice President Operations, Honeywell Canada Logistics Services with Honeywell International, before recently joining Mincom.
