Australian company says it’s growing globally, despite downturn

IT People - People

Australia’s O4 Corporation, a global provider of sales force automation software for consumer products companies, has appointed a new head of its Asia Pacific operations at a time when “demand for the company’s software systems is at an all time high despite the worldwide economic downturn.”

Des Miller, CEO of O4, said Angela Lovegrove had been appointed managing director, Asia Pacific and Shanker Krishnan, executive vice president, product development.

According to Ms Lovegrove demand for O4 software systems was high because “O4 is delivering new capabilities to customers that make their field operations more effective and cost-efficient.

"Faced with challenging market conditions, our customers are taking advantage of the competitive benefits that mobile field force systems can deliver, something that is even more important now than it has ever been," she said.

Lovegrove takes on the role following 20 years in the IT industry and a series of roles for General Motors, HP and Philips in Europe and Asia. She has previously worked with the O4 management team after establishing the European and EMEA operations in 2004 and delivering partner programs across Europe for the company in the same year.

Lovegrove said Krishnan brings significant software product development experience to his new global role with O4. Prior to joining O4 he was general manager for products at Mastersoft, where he developed and commercialised software solutions on a national and international scale, significantly contributing to the company's growth.

Des Miller, Chief Executive Officer for O4 Corporation is looking forward to working with the new members of the management team.

Miller said O4 was a fast-growing, future-facing company and the new appointments demonstrated “our confidence in the positive trends in mobile retail execution technology for consumer products companies."
