Dimension Data names four new execs

Dimension Data has appointed Michael Patroni to the role of general manager - professional services, along with three other new appointments.

Patroni joined Dimension Data in August 2005 from Hewlett-Packard, where he was OSS business manager. Prior to this, he was acting CIO at Baycorp Advantage.

Dimension Data says his appointment is "a move to drive best practice across the country in the area of intellectual property re-use and national skills development."

Also, David Solsky has been appointed as national commercial sales manager, to work with Dimension Data's lines of business, and key partners such as Cisco, Microsoft and EMC.

He was formerly national business manager for data centre solutions (DCS), a role he took on after Dimension Data's acquisition of SecureData Group's business in December 2004. He was a director and co-founder of SecureData, responsible for its technology strategy and product development.

The role of national business manager for DCS has been taken up by former DCS practice manager Ronnie Altit.

 Dimension Data has also named Michael Shing Victorian sales manager, SME (less than 250 employees). He was previously manager - storage products at SecureData Group, prior to its acquisition by Dimension Data. After the acquisition, he contracted to Dimension Data to assist in the transition of SecureData's business.
