Australian developer and provider of video technology and products, Vividas, has promoted Pete Burley to international sales director to be based at the company’s New York office.
Promoted from his sales manager position at Vividas, Burley’s new role as the company’s international sales director will see him responsible for driving Vividas’ sales and marketing operations globally.Burley has held senior positions with leading Australian media outlets such as Fairfax Digital, ninemsn and Murdoch Magazines as well as with wireless hotspot operator, Azure Wireless. Prior to joining Vividas, Burley was Victorian sales director of Murdoch Magazines. He was also the founding sales manager for the Microsoft/PBL joint venture ninemsn.
Staffed by six employees, Vividas’ New York’s office will house mainly its US sales and marketing and production teams with its research and development (R&D) work still being driven from Australia. The company’s other offices are located in the UK and Canada.
Vividas’ New York office is the company’s first foray into the US market. According to Burley, a presence in the US will enable Vividas to more effectively grow and service its US clients. “The US video streaming technology is experiencing very high growth currently. Being here will enable us to better market our Australian-developed technology and go after a piece of this rapidly expanding market,” said Burley.
Vividas Australia has also appointed Glen Gaunt as NSW Sales Manager. Prior to joining Vividas, Gaunt was the online sales manager at OptusNet and state sales manager at Sensis. Gaunt has also run his own company – CRC Marketing – which specialised in sales and marketing for the hospitality industry, and was successfully sold in 1999.
