Telstra has appointed Andrea Grant - recipient of the 2003 'Best HR Director award - as group managing director, Human Resources, reporting to CEO, Sol Trujillo.
She joins Telstra from GM Holden where she has been executive director human resources since 2001. She also served as GM Holden's first female board member. Before joining GM Holden she was human resources director of Merck, Sharp & Dohme (New Zealand) Limited.
In 2003 she received the 'Australian HR Awards' award for Best HR Director in Australia and was recently awarded the EOWA Business Achievement Award for Diversity Leader for the Advancement of Women.
Trujillo said: "Ms Grant will help us to best harness [Telstra] talent and build our capabilities to support our commercial objectives...[She] will develop performance measurement programs, succession planning and other human capital and organisational development programs to advance the new vision for the company...[She] will also help drive cultural change to ensure that our focus is fully on our customers and on our strategies going forward."
