EMC has appointed Craig Williams as general manager of its content management and archiving division for Australia and New Zealand.

"I am delighted to have joined EMC at a time when our customers are demanding better management of the ever increasing volumes of information that reside within their organizations," he said.

"Harnessing the power of these disparate information sources is becoming a key differentiator in the way organisations compete in the marketplace."

Williams most recently led the southern region business development team at EMC subsidiary VMware. He previously spent 11 years with Compaq and HP, culminating in the position of general manager of Victorian operations.

Williams holds an honours degree in business from the UK's Kingston University, and has completed the residential general management program at Harvard Business School.
