Microsoft says Watson's on to drive Software + Services in Australia

Microsoft has appointed Peter Watson as the director of platform strategy for its Australian operations.

"Peter brings a wealth of experience to the role, and we are delighted that he has made the move to lead Microsoft’s platform strategy in Australia," said Norbert Haehnel, director of developer and platform group, Microsoft Australia.

"He will play a critical role in expanding our Software + Services initiative in an exciting and dynamic marketplace."

Watson will continue to oversee Microsoft’s security strategy and operational activities, where he will be supported by Stuart Strathdee and Scott Deacon.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Watson worked at IBM, Arthur Anderson, Bank of Melbourne, Ansett Transport Industries and Coles Myer.
