Wikimedia Foundation trustees get new chair and a new member

The board of trustees of the Wikimedia foundation has chosen a new chair and welcomed a new community-elected member.

The new chair is Michael Snow, a Wikipedia volunteer since December 2003 and a board member since February 2008. He succeeds Florence Devouard.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to serve in this capacity as our volunteer community works to share knowledge around the world," said Snow.  "I look forward to helping the Wikimedia Foundation better connect with and support its large and engaged community of contributors. We have an important job to do, and I am delighted to be able to help."

The new community-elected board member is Ting Chen, a Wikipedia editor since 2003 who works for IBM Germany.
