Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY), a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, has appointed Goran Markovski as Strategic Account Manager for the banking and financial services industry (FSI) in Victoria. The appointment is part of the company’s ongoing expansion plans and industry specific growth strategy in Australia.
Based in Melbourne, Markovski will manage strategic accounts and identify business opportunities from existing and new pipelines. To his new role, Markovski will bring his proven consulting skills, and talent for creating successful strategies around regulatory initiatives.
Prior to joining Sybase, Markovski was a Senior Account Executive at SAS Institute in Melbourne. During his three years stint he was promoted twice and progressed from initial responsibility for SMBs to strategic enterprise accounts.
Commenting on his appointment, Dereck Daymond, Managing Director, Sybase Australia and New Zealand, said: “We were very impressed with Goran’s sales experience in enterprise IT, and his ability to understand key drivers in vertical markets. With his appointment we seek to further strengthen our market presence in Victoria, and expect to see strong growth in the FSI sector.”
Markovski’s sales career spans more than ten years. Previously he spent a year at Ausdoc Information Management and Data Security Services, which has now been acquired by Recall. As Business Development and Account Manager, he implemented operational sales plans in line with strategic goals, and managed growth through competitive tenders.
Markovski held a similar position at Computer Easy Australia, where he gained vital insights into the IT needs of large organisations, and developed strong relationships with key customers.
He started his sales career at Mobitel Communications as Corporate Sales Manager where he managed a retail store and trained new staff.
