After less than four years as vice president of Cisco Australia and New Zealand, Ross Fowler will move to London to head the company's service provider business.
He will be responsible for all aspects of Cisco business with cable, mobile, non-traditional and incumbent telecommunications operators throughout Europe, a role for which he is well qualified having spent 30 years before Cisco at leading telecoms equipment vendor, Alcatel.
Prior to joining Cisco he was CEO of Alcatel Australia and New Zealand, a company he joined in 1974 as a cadet electrical engineer and where he held a number of executive, sales and engineering roles before becoming CEO.
He will be replaced by Les Williamson as managing director, Cisco ANZ. Williamson is currently client director for Cisco’s Telstra business and report to Owen Chan, senior vice president, Asia Pacific Operations. Both changes will take place at the end of Cisco’s fiscal year, July 31, 2007.
Williamson joined Cisco in 1999 and has held a number of roles with the company including account manager, regional manager and operations director. In his most recent role he was responsible for leading Cisco’s engagements with Telstra which included the sale of a number of Cisco's flagship core router, CRS-1s, as the backbone of Telstra's IP network.
