Head honcho named for Nokia Siemens JV in Australia

Paul Tyler has been appointed as the head for Australia and New Zealand of Nokia Siemens Networks, the newly formed global joint venture combining the telecoms network infrastructure businesses of both companies.

He joined Nokia in 1997 and has held several executive level positions in the company in both Europe and APAC including director of business development, regional operators, Europe, based in Dublin and general manager, O2 business team, based in the United Kingdom.

He returned to Australia in October 2004 with Nokia. Since then he has been general manager, Vodafone business team, Asia Pacific, country director for Nokia Networks, Australia and chair of the Nokia Australia country management team.

In his new role he will head a business with over 600 people with major operations in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.
