Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
ICT recruiter Best International has launched a new Australian IT employment index. The Best IT Talent Index will be released on the fifth day of each month and provide information about the level and nature of demand for ICT labour in Australia, based on analysis of the previous month’s data.
The index will be based on on Best’s proprietary
data market analysis as delivered by its senior management team.
According to the inaugural Index, October 2006 market data demonstrates
an extremely buoyant IT market with a very healthy outlook for the
short and long-term future of the industry, an environment that
continues to support and create strong ICT recruitment demand.
According to the Index, across Q1 FY 2006–2007 the Australian market
experienced a 9.1% increase in demand for ICT staff nationally, higher
than the increase experienced during Q4, 2005-2006, with greatest
demand coming from development, consulting and business analyst roles.
John McVicker, Founder & Managing Director, Best International
explained, “We identified a real gap in the market for data and market
intelligence that would assist ICT employers in better understanding
the demand and likely availability of ICT talent. As a result, we
created a tool that equips and empowers these employers with knowledge
and insight to confidently manage their business according to market
conditions and in the process, significantly reduce their employment
costs.
“The Best IT Talent Index provides any hiring or recruitment manager in
the ICT market with valuable intelligence and recommendations not
available elsewhere. We’re expecting to see some strong take-up.”
