Web hoster and domain name registrar, Melbourne IT, was announced as the 2005 winner of the Small Enterprise Private Sector of the annual Awards for Excellence in People Management stage by the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Awards, presented by the HR industry's national body, were made in six sections: Large, Medium and Small Enterprises - Private and Public Sector. The main criteria for the AHRI excellence awards is the contribution made by HR to the overall business success of the organisation.
In announcing Melbourne IT as am award winner, national judging panel member Brett Wright said, 'the Judges found that the organisation demonstrated a sophisticated approach to people management of a character you would normally expect in a much larger organisation.'
In announcing the award, the Australian Human Resources Instituted noted that within Melbourne IT, there are people who between them speak more than 25 languages.
