Management services provider, SMS Management & Technology Limited (ASX:SMX) announced today that it has appointed Pat Turner to head up its Technology Services division in Brisbane, with the company poised for a major recruitment drive.
SMS Technology Services is actively recruiting and plans to employ an additional 100 staff, on top of its existing complement of 800 people, in the coming twelve months.
SMS announced the establishment of Technology Services as a separate business division earlier this year, with a view to increasing its market share in the technical and application services sector. Expansion of Technology Services into the Queensland market follows a strong performance by the Victorian division this year, according to the company.
Jason Young, director technology services said, “SMS is well established in Queensland, recently celebrating its tenth year of business in the state. As a professional services provider to some of Queensland’s major corporations and key government departments, the expansion of the company’s Technology Services offering into Queenland further complements the services provided by our other business divisions – Business and IT Consulting and M&T Resources.”
Turner joins SMS from Bearing Point where he managed the company’s strategy and architecture division for the last five years. He has also worked as an independent adviser to the Queensland Government.
