Co-inciding with the name change, Sensis has launched four new products:
- Yellow Mobile, a mobile phone application that gives access to Yellow Pages online searches. This has additional features, including the ability to undertake proximity searches and to get a map showing directions to the chosen business. It will be available on Internet capable phones "in coming weeks".
HomeAtYellow is a more significant departure from the traditional Yellow Pages directory service. It is a new website (
www.homeatyellow.com.au) that promises to offer home renovators "all the information, advice and online tools they need to make an informed decision before contacting a supplier." Editorial content is presently sourced from a third party supplier, but Sensis says it intends to bring this in-house, and also to provide a facility for users to upload information and make it available to others.
The main Yellow Pages website, now
www.yellow.com.au, has been expanded to include a facility for advertisers to offer special time-based deals or discounts on their goods and services.
And to prove that there is life in print still, Sensis has launched a new print directory, Yellow In The Car. It is a glovebox-sized publication to be available in Sydney and Melbourne editions "with headings relevant to shoppers when they are out and about." It will include coupons for special offers and about 500,000 copies will be distributed from December.
