In the joint press release yesterday Lenovo and Polycom inc. announced that Polycom RealPresence solutions will be featuring on Lenovo laptops and tablets in the near future with the two companies working on developing innovative solutions that optimise and embed Polycom RealPresence video collaboration solutions to 'deliver high-quality collaboration experiences to end users from any location.'

For those unfamiliar with Polycom they are the global leader in standards based unified communications solutions with over 400,000 organisations trusting them to provide solutions to easily collaborate and meet face to face no from any location.

Lenovo is the first PC manufacturer to announce such plans on delivering Polycom-ready products with a number of devices, such as the ThinkPad T, X, L and W series laptops stated as being certified Polycom-ready and the first select tablets and laptops being available in the first half of 2012.

In a statement by Sudhakar Ramakrishna the chief development officer at Polycom he stated that 'Working with Lenovo, the world's second-largest PC maker, further accelerates our vision to make video collaboration ubiquitous by expanding the reach of Polycom RealPresence HD video and HD Voice to an even broader range of devices, from desktops to laptops to tablets.'
