Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Motorola has formed a joint venture with China's Huawei Technologies to develop UMTS and HSPA infrastructure equipment for customers worldwide.
A joint research and development centre will be set up in Shanghai where employees from both companies will work on development of the architecture and portfolio of products and services.
Motorola will contribute its services expertise in network design, deployment and integration as well as providing value added services such as network performance, network security, network management and operation support systems (OSS). Huawei will contribute its expertise in technology innovation, research and development.
Their announcement did not indicate how or where any products developed from this R&D would be manufactured.
The announcement comes just over a month after Nortel scrapped, without giving any reason, a planned JV with Huawei to manufacturer broadband infratrcture.
