American-based enterprise Linux firm Red Hat announced last week it has now completed work on a third floor in the current building it occupies in North Quay, Brisbane that'll allow the company to grow its research, development and support in the region.

Queensland Deputy Director-General for Business Innovation, Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation, Darren Crombie, opened the new level for the company at an event last Friday.

The North Quay facility provides support for Asia Pacific and some US customers, as well as the support engineering team, that focuses on internationalising Red Hat software.

'The Brisbane facility is one of Red Hat's largest support and engineering centres in Asia Pacific, and for the last several years we've been increasing our headcount,' Red Hat's Vice President for Worldwide Engineering Services and Operations, Paul Gampe, said in a statement.

'We're continuing to invest significantly in local talent to help us with current workloads and to accommodate and scale with the business.'
