Communications Alliance has established an Operations Council, comprised of senior representatives from member companies to work closely with its board to guide and help manage the core operational activities of the Alliance.
Stanton said: 'The Operations Council will harness the learnings and accomplishments of the NBN project during the past 18 months and link these to the existing reference panels and working committee arrangements used by Communications Alliance for the making of industry standards, codes and guidelines.'
The Council will set a work program based on priority activities needed to facilitate the early stages of NBN deployment and transfer of existing customers from copper to fibre-based services, Comms Alliance said.
It will also be responsible for ensuring coordination across reference panel work programs and the remaining NBN working committee activities in areas such as early-stage deployments, operations and consumer information. It will hold its first meeting on 16 September.
