AMD updates the C- and E-Series APUs

The APUs will now deliver enhanced HD graphics for the hardcore gamers and performance boosts with enhanced memory allocation. It will also include DisplayPort++ which is used to connect any HDMI or DisplayPort enabled monitor or TV. It is also stated that it will increase the battery life on a single charge to up to 12 hours; nearly 1 hour longer than before.
Chris Cloran, vice president and general manager, Client Division, AMD, claims that modern day PC users want 'stunning HD graphics and accelerated performance with all-day battery life' and he believes that is exactly what AMD is offering the consumer with the new APUs. 'With these new APUs, we're bringing premium features to entry-level products that let users get a richer computing experience.'
On top of this the new E-Series APUs will include DDR3 1333 support for enhanced memory bandwidth, faster performance and video playback. As well as HDMI 1.4a connectivity that allows users to view 3D pictures and videos on 3D displays.
AMD has shipped more than 12 million APUs, and sold more than five million of these now updated C- and E-Series APUs in Q2 2011 alone.
