IT Industry - Strategy

Google Australia is offering free training in its products and free AdWords advertising to companies and individuals that offer web services to SMBs in a bid to get them promoting Google's offerings to their customers.

In a blog posting, product marketing manager, Richard Flanagan, said: "If you're a webmaster, digital agency, freelancer, IT consultant, or provide any other web services to Australian small businesses, you can apply to join the program starting today.

"Google Engage participants will receive free access to educational resources, online training materials, and a select number of AdWords promotional vouchers to help your clients trial search advertising."

Applicants must be physically based in Australia, have a functioning business website, specialise in web-services that help businesses succeed online (eg. web-development, digital campaign management, etc) and be eager to spend time and resources promoting Google tools and services to your clients.

Google adds: "The skills acquired through this program should prepare participants to pass the Google AdWords Certification exam."

AdWords Certified partners receive additional benefits including more advanced trainings, a professional profile page, an official badge or certificate showing their AdWords qualification, higher-value AdWords promotional vouchers and the option to be listed on the Google Partner Search engine.
