Commander to open 19 regional franchises

IT Industry - Strategy

Commander Communications has announced plans to open more 'Commander Centres' to enhance the level of sales and support it provides to small and medium business customers in regional Australia, following a successful pilot of the concept in Launceston.
Commander Centres are owned and operated by franchisees and provide a single, local point of contact for sales and support of Commander’s range of voice and IT hardware and communications services. Depending on location, each facility will employ between five and 12 people in sales and service roles.

Commander has now opened two centres in Tasmania, in Hobart and Launceston, and says it will soon open three additional centres in Wollongong, NSW; Mandurah, WA; and Ballarat, Vic. By the end of 2007, it aims to have 14 more centres in other major regional centres in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Commander is now recruiting franchisees who will be responsible for owning and operating the new Commander Centres. Managing director, Adrian Coote, said: "This initiative is consistent with our drive to offer SMBs across Australia the most innovative products and services bundles under our 360° communications strategy...By opening centres in key regional areas, more SMBs and regional branch offices will benefit from a convenient single source and one-stop-shop with the high-quality sales and support they need to take advantage of Commander solutions...Local customers will also benefit from shorter sales cycles, face-to-face support and ongoing real-time interaction."
