Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Lucent Technologies has opened an office in Canberra, saying it signals the company's clear intent to take a more focused business approach toward the government and defence sector.
The new office will be the Australian headquarters for specialist and dedicated staff, focusing solely on the government sector. It will be headed by recently appointed manager, Government and Defence Anita Krahe.
The company will continue to manage country-wide operations from its Sydney office (where the company's GNOC facility is hosted). It operates a combined Australian and New Zealand operation with other offices in Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington.
Managing director of Lucent ANZ, Roger Derrien said the company saw real opportunities in Canberra. "This opportunity comes in many forms, including build out, services and applications, and there is a strong need to address security issues in this present age of convergence..[which] is blurring of the rules we traditionally played by." said Roger Derrien, managing director, Lucent Technologies, Australia and New Zealand.
