...recipes for leftover Christmas food: to kick off Telstra's 55 day countdown to Christmas advertising campaign.

Advertising industry web site, Mumbrella, reports that Telstra has become the first major brand to kick off a Christmas marketing campaign with the launch of a 55 day countdown to the holiday.

Mumbrella reports that Telstra is running a Facebook and online '55 Days Of Christmas' campaign web site (that takes at least 55 seconds to load) featuring a different offer for consumers every day,  backed by TV advertising in a campaign being run by Ogilvy. It notes that the TV commercials have already been aired on Telstra's YouTube channel.

Telstra has already previewed some of the goodies it will be offering this festive season: a number of new mobile phones were demonstrated to the media at a press conference last month, complete with mince pies, brandy snaps and other snacks appropriate to the festive season.
