Pacific Fibre, the New Zealand company planning a new submarine cable network linking Australia, New Zealand and the USA, is looking for staff, including people able to help it raise $US220m in funding.
In a posting on the company's blog, http://blog.pacificfibre.net/uncategorized/116/ head of finance, Lance Wiggs, said: "We are recruiting up to nine positions, adding to the current team of four full time people and an active board'¦[We are] looking for professionals to help us in our sales, operations and finance streams of work.
"While we have some position descriptions, we are flexible about the exact role descriptions as they will largely be determined by the people we hire. We might, for example, find people that are more junior or senior or that can bring experience across two or three different roles."
Specific roles to be filled are: sales and commercial managers; a technical team including technical leaders and juniors and a programme manager and IP engineer; and finance and legal staff.
Wiggs said: "We have NDAs signed with over 30 customers, and the sales and commercial managers will extend our ability to engage with these customers. We are looking for people who have submarine cable or related industry experience, as well as a demonstrated ability to form good relationships'¦
"We have just raised our fourth round of investment from our group of investors, and now it is time to up the ante. The next step is to raise around $US220 million from New Zealand, Australian and international sources, and we need help to write the documents, run the process and do the roadshow."
