42% public sector growth for Infor

IT Industry - Strategy

Business software vendor Infor has reported strong growth in the local public sector.

Infor suggests that its 42% year-on-year growth in the Australian and New Zealand public sector market is due at least in part to the local development of the Pathway product.

Pathway is designed specifically for local government, and incorporates people management, land and property management, revenue management, and regulatory management functions.

Customers in the area include the Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland city councils.

Infor's Hansen is aimed at streamlining business processes in local and state governments, and US customers include the cities of Miami Beach and San Jose, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Locally, it is used by Watercare Services in New Zealand, and Moreton Bay Regional Council in Queensland.

Unlike competing products, Pathway is developed in Australia with input from local customers.

"Our product direction aligns with our customer needs, because it is guided by them locally," said James Brackenrig, Infor vice president and managing director ANZ.
