Mobile operators get fixed price spectrum renewal in $3b Government windfall

First directors named to Bevan Slattery's data centre venture

Pipe Networks founder, Bevan Slattery has named three directors of his new data centre venture, NEXTDC, announced last week.

The new directors are Roger Clarke, Greg Baynton and Mr Robin Khuda. Slattery said: "[They] will bring a wealth of experience and success in managing large and high growth IT & telecommunications companies.

"Additionally, these directors have significant experience in infrastructure investment, capital raisings, IPOs, M&A and corporate governance, which will add significant value to NEXTDC as it expands its operation in coming months."

He added: "I have worked with these three directors previously at Pipe Networks and highly value their expertise and input while NEXTDC undertakes construction of Australia's smartest, most secured, scalable and energy efficient data centres across key capital cities."

He said that, since announcing the project he had "received strong initial demand for NEXTDC's premium and energy efficient data centre space and expect to expand NEXTDC's operation outside of Melbourne and Brisbane within very short period of time."

He said that NEXTDC was on track to announce its product and service offerings in the next five to seven weeks together with its management team structure. The company's web site (www.nextdc.com) is presently one page with a counter counting down to a launch of the site proper at midnight Wednesday 2 June, AEST.
