comScore appoints first Australia-based staff member

IT Industry - Strategy

Internet measurement company, comScore, has ramped up its presence in the Asia Pacific, hiring in-country staff with sales responsibilities in Australia, India and Hong Kong.

Kara Anglin will have sales responsibilities in Australia operating out of Sydney; Victor Cheng has been appointed sales director based in Hong Kong; Samantha Oh joins ComScore's Singapore team as account manager for South East Asia and Kedar Gavane will have sales responsibilities in India operating out of Mumbai.

Anglin was most recently manager of advertising research for Thomson Reuters based in New York where she was responsible for the US and UK advertising research teams and for supporting sales teams in the US, Europe and Asia. Before that she was a senior research analyst at CBS Interactive.

Will Hodgman, comScore executive vice president for the Asia-Pacific region, said: "With their wealth of industry knowledge and comScore's trusted digital media research offerings, we are confident we can address the growing needs in this market and provide the world class research and intelligence needed to help digital business in the region continue to flourish."

The company's expansion into Australia was foreshadowed last month when Hodgman told iTWire that the ComScore was looking to appoint its first Australian based employee and looking to release its Video Metrix product into several markets in the Asia-Pacific region including Australia.

It also has a goal of being able to provide accurate data on browsing from mobile phones by getting the mobile operators to provide it with direct feeds from their networks.
